Nico Baixas, known as Gos-com-fuig, is a Barcelona-based interdisciplinary artist who began his artistic journey at age three with his family's theater group, La Claca, collaborating with renowned painter Joan Miró. Surrounded by artistic freedom, Nico spent much of his childhood in art museums and theaters across five continents, deciding to pursue a career in art, music, film, and theater. Inheriting a unique talent for his hands from his deaf, sign-language-speaking maternal grandparents, Nico developed a distinctive style of virtuosic hand puppetry. After joining Cirque du Soleil, his work was celebrated by audiences and critics in cities like New York, Tokyo, Paris, London, and Rome. Under his Gos-com-fuig alter ego, Nico uses his hands and body to create abstract and figurative photographs, videos, sculptures, and multimedia performances, leaving much room for interpretation. This piece began as a collection of a thousand ordered forms created with two hands, receiving the GENERACIONES 07 grant and debuting at the ARCO art fair in Madrid. It was later expanded with a photo exhibition, book publication, and a multimedia system enabling him to paint with his hands and body.
