Both the slide rule and case are in excellent vintage gently used condition!
Imported by Frederick Post Co. of Chicago.
Manufactured in Japan by the Hemmi Seisakusho company.
There is a tiny 2 character stamp on the back "LE" that indicates this was manufactured in Japan in May of 1961.
I believe this is made of bamboo with a white celluloid laminate on the front!
features A, B, CI, C, D, and K scales on the front. The reverse of the slide often includes S, L, and T (trigonometric/logarithmic) scales, and features a handy conversion chart on the back.
The C and D scales were primarily used for multiplication and division, with an accuracy of generally three significant digits. It was a practical tool used in engineering and science fields before the advent of electronic calculators.
The case has a snap closure and belt loop on the back.
