A collection of works by Nobuyoshi Araki, a leading Japanese photographer, titled "Shakyō Rōjin A 76-rei (Signed)".
This book was published in a limited edition of 500 copies to coincide with an exhibition held at Taka Ishii Gallery in Roppongi in 2016. The exhibition coincided with Araki's 76th birthday, and 480 works were displayed, including 9 color photographs.
There are two main motifs.
One is the dancer kaoRi, who had been a topic of conversation the previous year after Araki wrote about his long-held feelings for her on his blog. With their relationship, which included collaborations since 2002 and annual photo shoots on her birthday, the book features captivating images of her in various expressions, including kimono, bondage, dance, and nudes.
The other is "Tonbo Tokyo". This collection of works, which strongly reflects Araki's view of life and death, was presented at his solo exhibition at the Musée Guimet in France in 2016.
The book contains 480 works and totals 520 pages. It is a valuable book with a limited edition number.
